I just bought a reproduction battery cover on eBay for $37.00. I would like to know if this looks like the real one.

If anyone would like one of these, the guy I bought it from said he has made several.

Terry, that looks like a reproduction that I have from Zimmerman's.
The original is steel sheet metal.
The steel ones are very hard to find.
As soon as you start having battery problems it is the first to go.
If you what to use your tractor to jump another battery it is in the way also.
But, the reproduction is strong and looks the part.
Sanding it smooth would make it look closer to the steel one.
I did not bother with that and just painted it.
Keep Well,

Thanks, George.

I did not know the original was sheetmetal.  This is a cast aluminum piece, and has a rough sand cast finish.  I will sand it down and get it as smooth as I can, prime it with filler and sand some more until it looks like sheetmetal.

Our OC-3 is an Industrial with 42 inch gage, and will be painted industrial yellow when we get it done.  Should the cover be yellow, too?

I would paint it the same. I do not know if they would have been different.
Probably not.
Good luck.
