I have what I believe is an Hg with a Trasco auxiliary transmission equipped with a Ware dozer blade. My questions are ?
1) Is the Trasco gear shift pattern  the same 3 forward and 1 reverse pattern as the H pattern on the Hg by this I mean 1st is High on the right , reverse is low on the right , 2nd is high on the left and 3rd is low on the left with neutral in the center.
2) Is this the proper way to shift the Trasco Transmission, When shifting the Trasco from one gear to the next, I put the HG transmission in neutral then put in the clutch then move the Trasco transmission from one gear to the next. After which I put in the clutch on the  Hg 's transmission and move  from one gear to the next.
3) Can you place the the Trasco transmission in neutral and just use the regular transmission if you do not need to slow down the transmission
Any help answering the above questions would be greatly appreciated

I don't have an auxiliary trans on my OC3 but I'll take a stab at your questions.

click on the "Auxiliary Transmission Page on Cletrac.org" thread at the top of the page above your post. Many of your questions are answered there.

The Trasco trans is really a Ford "model A" 3 speed trans inserted between the engine and the factory transaxle. The overall gearing is the product of the two transmissions in SERIES.

If the auxiliary trans is placed in 3 rd. gear (1:1) the tractor will be geared overall as if the auxiliary trans was not there, ie. stock factory gearing. If you select 2nd gear in the Trasco it will reduce the input speed to the transaxle by about 1/2. selecting 1 st gear will reduce input speed to about 1/3. If you put either or both transmissions in "neutral" you will not move. If you put both transmissions in "reverse" you will go forward! The Trasco will "reverse" the driveshaft rotation then the transaxle will "reverse" it again back to it's original direction.

By your post it seems as if you are trying to "shift" your gears like a car on the street. These machines are not designed to be shifted while in motion. Push in the clutch while the crawler is not moving, select the gear(s) that you want to use the let the clutch out and drive away. It will start from a dead stop in high gear without any problem.

I imagine that the Trasco (Ford model A) transmission shift pattern is the standard automobile 3 speed pattern, R and !st on the left, 2nd and 3rd on the right.
