Usually the bellhousing and flywheel  were different for the gas vs diesel engines.  I don't have a BD parts book but do have one for the BG.
Here are some BG parts number that you can compare if you have a book for the BD.  Belhousing 26189  1st and 3rd driving gear 50460, 2nd and 4th driving gear 50459, 1 st driven gear 50457, 2nd driven gear 50455, Final drive pinion 28878  bullgear 28877. Hope this is of some help.

Hello, sorry for the delay in replying.  My internet connection has been down for a couple of days.  I looked up the part no. you gave me, and the flywheel and bellhousings are different, the gears are all the same, but the final drive gears are different.  Would be very interesting to know if the housings are the same? as this may mean it is possible to gear down a diesel by fitting petrol final drive gears.  I have seen several posts in the past looking for ways to reduce the speed.  When I have a bit more time I will post the part numbers for the housing and the input and drive shafts for comparison.
I emailed quite a few people and no one got back to me about shipping, so have decided to leave it for now as its not a very good time for me right now. Sam
I live in England, got interested in Cletrac's when I brought an Oliver BD in 2001, I now have an Oliver BD a Cletrac BDH and another BDH for parts and have just brought a 1919 model H. I also have a british built Track Marshall 90.  Always keen to hear from fellow collectors.

Here are some more parts numbers. Drive shaft 28668, Inner cover ( final drive ) RH 50342, Outer cover 28616,  Axle shaft ( bullgear) 28618, inner bearing for shaft 1228 outer bearing for shaft 40107.  Also for and OC 12 final dive pinion 52866, bullgear 607606F. Do any of these match the BD?

The inner cover, drive shaft, outer cover, axel shaft, inner and outer bearings are all the same.  The only difference appears to be the final drive pinion and the bullgear. this suggests it should be possible to change the gearing by changing just the bullgear and drive pinion.  The oc12 part no. don't match with the bd parts.  This all means it should be possible to gear down a BD, which could be very usefull for heavier job such as dozing, and to gear up a BG for top work.
I suppose the flywheel would have to be different as the crankshaft on the diesel would be larger, still I think it would be an easy problem to get around.  All the best and thanks for the interesting help. Sam

I think the OC-12 diesel ran at about the same rpm as the gas engine, so they may not have had different gear ratios. My OC-12 is geared quite low in first. Most dozing work, such as grading I use 2nd and high reverse. For pushing over trees and such I use 1st. They actually pulled harder in 2nd than they did in 1st.
