I.D. HELP PLEASE!

Hey guys, I have traded on a small crawler and I'm not sure what it is. I do want to restore it to running condition. Any help on the I.D. will be greatly apprecatied. I will have it in my shop tommorrow afternoon and will get pictures of it and post them. As of now I can tell you that it has a four cylinder gas engine with electric start. The block has OLIVER cast into it and I can make out OLIVER on some of the gauges. I think it has a four speed transmission. As of now that's all I can remember. Well I am no expert, but I read this a while ago and I an trying to think of any Oliver engine that has Oliver cast in the Block!. Manifolds yes. A picture will help.

i agree with John the only  casting  around a engine that says  oliver that i have ever seen is the manifold. if it is oliver and not cletrac with a four cylinder gas and 4speed trans . it should be an early oc 4 if you mean 4 forward gears . if you mean 3 forward and 1 reverse ; you probably have an oc 3. the early oc 4 had a grille similar to the fleetline wheel tractors .

Sorry about the confusion the OLIVER casting is in the manifold. I was trying to remember if there were any castings on the block while I was typing the message and I put in block instead of manifold. As far as the transmission goes from what I could tell on shift patteren plate was four forward gears and reverse. I'll know more when I get it home and get it cleaned up. What about parts, are they hard to find for these machines. Thanks for your help.

After looking at pictures on the photo album page and reading what ya'll wrote, OC-4 may be correct. Because the gas tank is under the seat on my crawler and the throttle lever is on the right side of the instrument panel.

This is an early series OC-4 with a four cylinder gas Hercules engine.
"OLIVER" is cast in the mainfold.
 My understanding is that they did this right around the time Oliver took over Cletrac,....( That  is a whole other discussion topic!!!)
The ID plate is on the left side of the kick panel ( right above your left foot)
Gear pattern is a modified  "H" with reverse being straight up the center.
The original color is Highway Yellow with red lettering.
The previous owner liked Oliver green a lot better.... kind of grew on me too since I added the grill off of  a Super 77.
Later series OC4's were 3 cylinder and the final drives were rotated over one bolt space to get the front of the crawler further out, over the front of the tracks and a cast iron grill section to get even more weight up front.

Jim,John and Walter thanks again for all your help. I finally got my crawler in my shop today. It's in pretty rough shape, the more I look the more I find. The one good thing is the undercarriage is almost new. The previous owner must have just replaced it all before he quit using it. Although it was used for skidding logs in south Georgia, I think I can get it back clacking again.  P.S. is there parts available for the engine and transmission   or am I on my own with NAPA.
