The other day, my daughter, who just turned five was asked to draw a picture of her daddy by her Kindergarden teacher.

This is what she came up with.

Go figure.

That is great Jim. I know the feeling. My three year old son won't let me do a thing with my tractor unless he is riding on my lap.

That's wonderful Jim. Get her started out right. Be sure to bring her to our show next July so she can be in the Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. She usually attends the shows on Sunday when Daddy is starting to come down off of his "Tractor Frenzy"  and when Mommy thinks she can get the better bargains at the Flea Market.  A good day to buy Mommy lunch and try to calm her down after explaining my weekend "Rusty Metal Purchases" An apple dumpling with ice cream  is worth more than dozen roses!

Her first show was 1997 Fall Harvest when she was only 5 weeks old.
A steam tractor blew its whistle when we were close to it and she nearly lept out of the wife's arm's. Since that time , she has always seemed to like steam whistles. We were very fortunate to ride the Knox and Kane Railroad, last year, over the Kinzua Bridge before they closed it.

She still says " Chugga Chugga   WOO WOO!!"

Oh we were going to go on that train trip a couple months ago and decided not to as they weren't using their steam engine. Now I wish we'd have gone anyway.

The bridge was closed back then too. Now it's even closed for walking over. I hear they're getting funding for completely repairing it - some company from Ohio is probably going to do it.

Here's some pictures of when I was there the first time with my dad in 1967.
