Hello everyone
I was wondering if anyone knew what fuel was used in a cold start system
that is on my BD,possibly an option, it consists of a cylindrical container with a small screw on cap,and a push plunger, that reads engine primer on its end, and then was origionally hooked up to air intake tube between
fliter and intake.
Is this an early cold starting system? and what fuel was used? ether?if
something else was used is it still available?
Is there any other options available for cold starting? I currently have a
coolant heater in the lower radiator hose, this helps a little as these machines dont start well in cold weather!  thanks for any help in advance!

These used ether pellets that were inserted into the canister and punctured by the spear inside when you pushed down on the plunger. I don't know if those pellets are available, but I doubt it. We always used canned ether - even years ago.
