AB Orchard ?

I have an AB with orchard fenders. It has the Hercyles DOOC motor which is running but on only two cyc.,no. 3&4. Whats the story on this model? Does anyone else own one. What about engine parts. I'm new to the site so eager for info. Found tractor in lower desert of SO. Calif. Thank You, Crux.

:oops: I rechecked my ID tag. This time I used mag. glasses and discovered my tractor is an AD. I would still like to know about this model. Do the other " A " model parts interchange with each other. What about attachments like a dozer. My tractor has a hyd. pump mounted in front of the tractor and driven by the crankshaft. The crank and hyd. pump are connected by a short  jackshaft. I beleave it was set-up for sme type of rockpicker towed behind. Do these models come with different gearing specific for an intended use like dozing or towing? The Hercules dooc engine looks plenty powerful for this small tractor. Anybody own one?  Crux.

These AD''s seem to be more plentyful here in Australia than over there. I have one we a restoring and have come across a far few whilst looking for parts. Zimmerman have plenty of parts Cheers Willo

Is your AD styled or unstyled?  Unstyled being the older boxy grille/body, and the later ones had a rounded-top grille.   The Model A parts will interchange almost completely between the AG and AD models, given the style matches.

Good luck with your orchard tractor - they are rare here!

John D, I think its the styled model. The top tank has a radius to it not hard corners. The grill is flat with rounded sides. I'm currently talking with a radiator supplier for a core. The core is very close and the plates are blank. I willhave to drill to mach top and bottom tanks. Any sorces for radiator cores?I've found many answers to my questions on this site but  a differance between AD years is great info. thank you. My serial # is 1Z954. Found another AD and am concidering buying it. This site is really great and so helpful. Thank you so much Blake.  Crux.

With that serial number it is a styled crawler. I would say late 1944 or maybe very early 1945, John

Thanks for the info John. It all helps in knowing your tractor. Found new radiator core.for AD. Matched-up with dementions of an Oliver core in there books. Problem is don't stock any more so this willbe a oneoff by Manuf. Price $330 plus shipping aprox $20. Any other sources for new core? I'm dealing with Ted @ Ace Radiator 1-800-6430678. He's been helpful. Might find your tractor core there. Carry-on, Crux :)  :)

I just saw one on EBAY not long ago. or try Landis Zimmerman first. This was a common radiator.
