Serial Number Location

My husband & I have a Cletrac (orange in color) w/ a blade.  We are not even sure of the year, probably late 40's early 50's b/c of the copyright date in the manual.

It was my fathers & he told my husband several times that it was a BD 6.  We can not find the serial number plate anywhere on the machine to confirm this.  

We are considering selling the machine, but would like to do more research before we do.

Where are the serial # plates generally located?

The Tractor serial number plate will be on the engine side of the firewall.  There will also be an ID plate on the engine, usually on the left side. If it is a BD the engine will be a DJXC.
