The guy I bought my OC-4 from said that he used 20W-50. It's a four cylinder Hercules gas motor. Is the 20W-50 fine or would the SAE20 be better?

Well, I noticed that it smokes every now and then for a few seconds. I was woundering if the 20W-50 could be the cause of this.

I would probably use 15W-40 in it all year, unless you want to run it in very cold weather. This oil is probably overkill for a gasoline engine, but I use it in just about everything with good results.

Some will argue against multi-vis oil, but I think new technology has taken care of that.

It doesn't really get cold enough for that here in the south. Is that a synthetic?

No it's not. It's just the oil that is recommended by about every diesel engine manufacturer in America. And it's fine for gasoline engines too.

Oh, O.K. thanks. :)  I knew I had seen that number before, I just couldn't remember where.
