Yes I see the frame is flared up. Maybe that went further back on the 31 gauge tractors, this would mean that an HG 31 frame might work for me.
I see from your pics that you have the motor opened up, what are you going to do? It looks like #1 cylinder has some issues.

yeah, my rigs been sitting a looong time, not stuck but had no compression. valve issues- the engine is in rough shape, rougher than i thought, so im just evaluating overall condition and thinking about the next step.

I know that to rebuild a motor right it can be expensive. I just did anIXB and parts alone cost $1200. The pistons are  $75 each. I dont know if you can punch an IXK out to the 3  1/4 that the IXB is ,but I have a set of std pistons for the IXB that I dont need. Maybe someone else can answer that question! From the picture it looks like the tin is in good shape.

yeah, kinda figured it was gonna get expensive, do it a little at a time, its got nowhere to be anytime soon, besides, its not gonna make me any money and its not gonna work too hard ever again, just saving a piece of history is how I think of it.
thanks for all the info, again, and sorry about hyjacking your thread.
