Can someone let me know what size wrench is needed to fit the track tension adjusting nuts on a 46 HG and also how tight do most people run the tracks? Any "rules of thumb" or just go by the manual?  Thanks.

Mike, I not sure on the size--and it is dark now;)

As for adjustment the 2" called for is probably what you should run.  If they are loose you will find that after you adjust them to the correct sag and drive the tractor you may have to adjust again.

As for rules of thumb--since you have the HG front idler that runs inside the track chain you don't want to let them get too loose--they run off easier than the OC idlers that run on the outside.

Generally working in cohesive clay you should run a little loose because the tracks will tighten up with mud packing into the links and sprockets--but not much since that is also about the worst stuff for running a track off if you turn tight.

Putting tracks back on in the mud is no fun--even for these little guys:(;)
