I have been working on my HG and turns out that the bendix/drive gears are pretty much shot. The gear snaps in as it should but the threads are so worn it jambs up and won't release. Is there a source for these parts? It could use a set of brushes too. I have had pretty good luck finding delco parts but not so much on autolites based on past experience.

By any chance anyone have an exploded view of the starter? I have a sneaking suspicion there is extra spacers/washers in there and I want to double check against something.

Thanks,
Dave

Hello Dave -

Have you tried Zimmerman Oliver Cletrac?

They have probably the best stock on the continent. And if they don't have it they will probably help you find the parts.

The Auto-Lite MZ-4098 was the first starter used on the HG, from SN 5GA000 to 25GA377. At SN 25GA378 they switched to a Delco 11029602.  I to would recommend Zimmerman's, they are very good to deal with.

Thank You for the help fellas. thanks to your part number I was able to find this https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-STARTER-DRIVE-MPLS-MOLINE-WHITE-OLIVER-HERCULES-COCKSHUTT-COMBINE-HARVESTER/360826502271?hash=item5402ef7c7f:g:MqcAAMXQnYJQ9Nsl:rk:11:pf:0 on ebay. Unfortunatley the price is out of the range I can justify at the current time. But it gives me needed information to possibly find another source. Lots of times I make what I can but this is a little out of my capability as of now.
