Front Grill Clearance on HG42

Can someone tell me what the measured distance is from the front edge of the frame to the center bottom (gap distance)of the front grill is on the HG?  I believe that it is at least a few inches.  Is it the same measurement on an original grill as opposed to the Zimmerman reproduction grill?

I'm afraid I have no time to go measure but you might want to call Landis and ask him that question ((717-738-2573)
The grill that Landis makes looks similar to the original at a distance.  I believe the shape is the same and therefore dimensions to the frame should be the same.
Up close you can tell the difference.  The original grill was a stamping and the openings are rolled over.  The grill Landis makes is made of heavier material and the openings are cut out but not rolled over to the inside.

I would say it's about 5 1/2" and maybe less as you move out from the center.
You may be able to remount the pump further back if you change your mounting bracket, I am tring to figure away to do this myself.
