broke off plug in head - how to remove old shell of plug

Got new toy - HG 42 - hasn't been run in five years.  Took out three of four plugs to put oil in cylinders before turning over by hand.  Broke off one spark plug.  Plug actually broke off above the threads, shearing off a ring of metal at the metal-to-ceramic joint.  What remains in the head is the threaded shell.  How can I get that out, or at least get some penetrating oil into the thread juncture.  Anyone seen this one before?

You could try a needlenose pliers on the inside to turn it out. Maybe a small hacksaw blade to weaken  the ring and then break the peices out. Be careful you dont lose any in the engine. If you do it that way then blow them out with a compressor or use the engine as a compressor. I would try to get it out with a linesman pliers and some WD-40 first.   Good luck.
