Cosmetic Restoration of Tracks

I'm seeking advice on the cosmetic restoration of my OC-3 tracks.

Do I dare take a sandblaster to them?  Am I sure to get sand in the pins and bushings and in turn quicken their demise?

How have other folks cleaned up the track pads and chains?

Once cleaned up, what color and kind of paint have folks put on the tracks?

I've seen them painted yellow.  I've seen them painted a flat black.  I've seen them painted silver.  I've seen the chains painted yellow and the pads painted in any one of the colors listed above.

Some insight would be appreciated.

I do not use a sandblaster for anything . Try a needle scaler and a wire brush wheel on a grinder .Any type of paint will wear off the tracks . I always use the same paint as tractor color .
