What model year is my oc-3?

I have acquired an oc-3 with serial number # 9wh388, I have been to all of the Oliver-Cletrac websites that I can think of but cannot come up with anything... YTMag has ser #s listed but was confusing as there seemed to be no order to numbers or years and my particular number was not found... Thanks in advance for any and all help... Joel

It's a 1952. The serial number sequence changed in 1953 to all digits.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. This came from thw ytmag site.. Now I am not trying to start anything here but maybe Blake can shed some more light on this, according to this chart it reverts back the other way again in 1955???

In 1953 and 1954 all the Oliver built tractors wheel and Crawler used the same serial number system. This is the only time this was done, In fact the Super 55 which was introduced in the summer of 1954 did not use this system any more.
According to my list, the 1955 models started with 11WH so I would say your crawler is a 1952.
