Yet another hg42 paint question....

I'm a new owner of a 1946 Cletrac hg42.  I have been told the correct color scheme for this year is green w/ red fenders & seat.  I am aware of all the paint code listings, but I am in a situation where I must resort to painting it with "rattle cans" (aersol).  One or more vendors seem to have 2 different green paint colors in green (Oliver colors I think).  One is Meadow Green and the other is a different shade (medium green?).  Does anyone know which of these colors would be the correct choice, or closest to the appropriate color?

Well the meadow green ifs for later Oliver's. It was introduced in 1958. You will find some people that have 1946  model HG tractors that were still Cletrac Orange.

I looked at my serial # again, it is 19GA150.  The info I have says serial #'s BEGINNING with 19GA994 would be a 1946.  With that in mind, it appears my HG 42 must be a 1945(?)   [assuming what info I have is correct in that the 1945 year may be 13GA422 through 19GA993].
That said, I guess it would most likely be Cletrac Orange after all.  
So, my initial question out there is similar, but with a different color.  Is anyone aware of any aersol spray can source for Cletrac Orange, or at least a color that is very close???

You can use International tractor red for seat and fenders. If using spray cans - best to stick with the same brand for that color. I really haven't found a good match for the green in spray cans (yet). I have a 1947 HG-68. We painted it green 12 years ago using Martin-Senour acrylic enamel. I've had touch up little spots using using spray cans. Never could the right color of green (either too yellow or to blue).  I bought a spray can at Tractor Supply recently.....Plastic-kote Industrial 2774N Forest Green. The cap on top look pretty close to what the tractor is now. I've seen pictures of HG's early as 1944 painted green. I thought green started in 1946?

I believe that Rust-O-leum "Safety Orange" in spray cans is pretty close.

Thanks for the various responses!  Regarding the safety orange color, maybe I'll give that a try.  Is there anywhere one could find a proper resolution photo of something with Cletrac Orange, so I can compare the Safety Orange color?
I also found a link somewhere that mentioned a Case color that might be close.  It says the Case color is "flambeau red", so I'm wondering if that one will be an orange/yellow or if it is actually a shade of red.......

Hi, I am new to this forum and the crawlers. My wife and I just recently bought an HG 42 and it is painted the green and red scheme. We had paint mixed at the NAPA with Martin Senour paint with the older green and we had already purchased some spray cans at our local Tractor Supply that is by Valspar and just says Oliver green on the can.  We sprayed with the mixed paint and did some in the nooks and crannies with the spray cans, and found both to match exactly. As for the orange color, we will look for help with it, as we just bought a 1944 HG that looks to be originally that orange color.

Here's a couple of photos of a 1945 Cletrac Model FDE from Sparky Duroe's collection - note the color difference in the sun/shade.  The Cletrac Orange is a tough color to photograph correctly.
