question for the experts on the 3 cyl gas engine in the oc4

Hey fellas, was the 3 cyl gas eng used in the oc4 used in any wheel tractors? The one in my oc46 is diesel and I would like to change it to gas. Has anyone sucessfully repowered a oc4 or 46? The front pump drive is a real problem!  Tim

The answer is no on the wheel tractor. Cockshutt used the 4 & 6 cylinder DD engines. What is the problem with your pump drive?

The oc-4 /oc-46 was powered with both
3-cyl gas and 3cyl diesel
Why would you change it to gas???

The problem isn't the hyd pump drive, its the 500.00 to rebuild the injection pump and then possible ring and engine rebuild. I just thought a gas engine might be more readily available and least expensive. Plus with a compression ratio of 6.5 to 1, it would start easier. Tim

I think those diesels were direct injection and started pretty good. Look in the classifieds on here for a guy in Canfield, Ohio who has a bunch of late OC-4 parts. He may have an engine or the parts you need.
