Did the OC3 come with a muffler? Mine only has a straight tube fastened to the manifold. Does the manifold cope with the momentum from a tall muffler?

Eric, I am pretty sure the muffler was an option.  The manuals show tractors both with and without mufflers.  The one we had when I was a kid did not have a muffler, just the straight pipe.
