Got the little H-42 going.The clutch will not release. Anyone out there knowhow to get it to release with out taken it apart.

Start it up while it is in low gear, then just hold in the clutch and hold on the brakes at the same time, or drop the blade. Make sure you are pointed in a safe direction, and have plenty of room to get stopped in case this doesn't work! If it is not stuck too bad, this should free it up. If it is rusted real bad in there this will probably not work. I have also found large mouse nests in bell housings that have sat around. If that or serious rust is the case, you will want to take it apart and clean everything up. The clutch is not too hard to take apart once you have the propeller shaft out on those.

Well-I finally got the clutch freed up.  Ended up having to take the clutch out, and sanding then freeing it up.  The little HG-42 runs fine now.:D  I guess now I can go out, play, and see what he can really do!  I would like to thank everyone for their help.  I was able to take the drive shaft out by driving the rear universal joint out of the yoke.  That way I didn't have to slide the rear back.  Again Thanks---Ron
