Deprssed clutch and operator

I have a BDH crawler that I have been working on for several months and finally feeling everything was top of the line and ready to go. I put it to use trying to re-grade my driveway. After blowing several HP hoses things were going pretty well, about 2 hours, then the clutch was depressed to change gears and it stayed depressed. It still has some pressure pushing down, but it feels like it is hitting something rotating when the motor is running. The total clutch pedal movement before was about 4 inches, now it is about 1 inch and does not disengage the transmition. Start the tractor in gear and it goes, no slipage. The clutch plate and steering bands, I was told, were recently replaced. Any ideas what may be wrong this time. I have read that the clutch is serviceable as is sits, no spliting of the motor and transmition. I can replace the pressure plate, clutch and throw-out bearing through the top. Is that correct? Clutch service appears kinda simple? Is it? I am new to crawlers and Cletrac so help is deffinately needed. I also have a HG crawler to restore, add a blade and 3 point hitch to replace a top heavy wheeled  tractor.    Thanks for any and all help. In Oregon needing help!    John J

the best way to start ,is to pull the clutch housing cover off ,it is directly under the fuel tank . first check all linkages to the throwout bearing. the cross shaft has a moon key in a cast piece which operates the throwout bearing fork ,this key could have partially sheared. if your problem is not in the linkage keep digging .
