Folks,

Yesterday I went out in the morning and shot my first deer ever - a really nice 8 point buck. I got him right on our farm. I've been hunting off and on since high school, but never got a deer until now.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. Hey Blake,  That's a real nice rack on that deer.  Was anyone thinking you just strayed and got yourself a Deere?  Bet not!  And nice that you got your E38 into the photo!

Thanks John.

Naw, I haven't strayed into Deere country, but there are a few models I would not mind having.

My E is actually an E62 - a very early E at serial number 1A80.

Take care,
Blake
