The DDH has a large fuel canister directly under the fuel tank.  It contains a canvas bag tied around a large coil spring.  We replaced the rotten bag years ago with just some plain canvas sewn with nylon thread and string.  I'm not sure if we used the correct materials (canvas...string etc) and if they've disintegrated from the diesel fuel.  I'd either like to get the proper parts to change the bag out or upgrage the filter to something more modern and serviceable.  Has anyone done this to theirs or have any suggestions as to where to get the parts or what to use to replace it?   Also the manual says that the final fuel filter is not serviceable.  It says when it gets clogged to replace it.  Are they still available.....or what is recommended to change that out.  Thanks

I just finished a FDE and put a new type water and fuel filter on the engine.  I also boiled the gas tank and lined the tank.  Sparky Duroe

I put a holder and filter from NAPA on my AD and for the secondary I just put a GM style filter on it. Mine was all gone when I bought it so...
