Well, it's like this...I've got a 79 Fel-Pro "Master Gasket Catalog" (272 browning pulp paper pages!!) and it don't show no IX rear main seal...it's got a column for "rear main bearing set" but it's as blank as my good deed list in heaven. (Listing covers IXA's, B's and K's).
Now: I've got a Fitzgerald 64 catalog, with a section covering (brace yourself)
IX, IX3 and 5; IXA, IXA3 and 5; IXB, IXB3 and 5;IXL, IXK3, IXT, IXF3 and 5.
In that section it shows "flywheel hsg. oil seal, IXA-IXB # 11119A (OE 84985) one used ", which is probably the transmission seal. That section has nothing else that sounds like any main seal.
I've got a 12-72 Chicago Rawhide catalog, and all it shows for the IX's is assessory drive and timing cover seals; they're supposed to have an online seal cross-ref on their website.
If nothing better turns up try olsonsgaskets.com (Port Orchard, WA) very highly spoken of, and gaskets-to-go, a sponsor of smokstak. com. There's also the "parts and services" lists at aths.org to check. good luck.
Nothing here is what it appears to be!

The seal goes in the flywheel housing so I am guessing that is probably what the seal is called.. The engine I have that I am putting in has s different style plate on the back and I have to put my flywheel housing on the other engine and the seal is in that housing..

Get me the dimensions. I think I have one laying in the garage. I will be back Thursday. There are not many General's with the IXA engine. Do you have an engine number and a tractor serial number?

I am guessing at the Engine Model. As at one time a Connnecting rod has came off and popped a hole in the block so theres no tag.. .. For the time being I am putting a IXF3 Herucles engine in the tractor This engine came off a Case Combine.. I need to change the flywheel housing to make it work... I cant find a Serial number on the tractor either.. So far I am happy with the bucket of stuff I bought.. Thanks for the reply

On the old block on the left side (opposite carburetor side) there is a flat spot near the top of the block. Unless it is a replacement block the engine serial number and model number will be stamped in that flat spot. How about dimensions for the seal?
