I have a model w that the impulse is clicking a few degrees before TDC is this normal? The marks on the flywheel are gone but i marked it out like the book says the timing seems to be very close any ideas if the timing is wrong. I am just about done with the total restoration and am getting ready to start it for the first time in over 50 years any tips?

Pull the W when you are ready to start it, much safer!!   Follow the book on the timing and make your two marks about three inchs apart on the flywheel.  check your carb also as it is easy to hook up the gov. backwards.  Spark

Also like Spark said, pull it. This allows you to build up oil pressure first too If you have a tank and can prime the lube system, better yet. good Luck!

Well i guess i was worried about nothing the crawler runs as if it was never used. It has about 45 lbs oil pressure no funny sounds. I started it by hand with no problem my mag has a timing retard so it was not bad. I always wanted a cat but i really like the way the cletrac handles and runs I will get a picture posted
