I am looking for more info to help make a decision to either re-build or sell.

I have had this engine for quite some time. It is from an Cletrac and ran when I bought this but smoked bab.

Here are the numbers on the engines.

Small platewith the number: 2446457
Block: 2 2 50  48
Behind the oil filter: 282

The clutch is still attached to the engine and a plate on the clutch has this: hg42 and 57GA540

Would anyone know the horsepower? Are parts easy to come by for both to rebuild and maintain?

I also have a blade and hydraulics for this. The plate on the hyd says AC anderson with HP2137. Anyone know anything about the blade and hydraulics/

If it is a hg 42 motor it should be a hercules ixb engine the made about 18 hp. I had to sleeve my block because the previous owner ran the machine into the dirt. Sleeves where $125 each installed. I spend something around $1800 to rebuild my engine. Yours may not be as bad. Parts are available.  Where are you located I may be interested in a dozer blade set up. I am in Northern New Jersey. Good luck with what ever you decide. Jeremy

Thanks for the info.

I think at this point I am going to list the engine and blade for sale. It should be on Craigslist this weekend.
