Hi
I ran across two set's of tracks from a rock drilling rig. One set is the same as an OC-3. The other set is not Oliver, they have a window through every cleet. What are the chances that these will fit an OC-3. They appear to be the right size.  I wish I had a camera with me because they are an hour away from me.

i believe the "window" is for use in snow so the snow can push on through the track pad. i saw a rock drill the other day with tracks from a oc3 on it also. if the tracks have the same pitch and are the same width inside and out,and have bushing the same dia., why wouldn't they work?

My Brother's father in-law (Joe) has a savage yard and is also a heavy machine mechanic in North East PA.  When I was talking to Joe about the condition of my pins and bushing on my 49 HG-68, he told me to keep an eye open for a old rock drill because they used the same type of chains as my crawler.  Since rock drills don't travel very far, the chains should be in much better condition than ones used in agriculture. I think a also read somewhere (maybe an article by Landis) that after Oliver shut down its crawler line that it continued to produce tracks for other companies.

The sprocket on this rock drill looks suspiciously just like the ones on an OC-3/OC-4
Wonder if the size and pitch are the same.

This is the odd track that I was wondering about. The center to center measurement is around 5 11/16 and the one that I believe is an oliver measures 6 even. so i will assume that these tracks are not compatable
