OC-4 tracks?

Hi guys-
My brother dropped off an OC-4 for me to play with. We're trying to figure out these tracks; the grouser or pad is offset from the chain, meaning not centered on it. I've never seen a set like this, but then again I haven't looked that closely. There is only 1/2 to 5/8" clearance between the track and some frame parts.

Is this an original track or did someone cut them down? They are pretty well worn, and I'm watching for a better set. I found an 8" wide set from an OC-3 that I think will work. In the past I've seen 10" and 12" from an air track drill but they are too wide unless the track frame and sprockets are spaced out.

My guess is that these were cut down to better fit your machine. Probably used up ten cut-off discs doing it

Offset tracks were not factory output, I am quite sure.
The grousers have been built-up too.

The 8 in. set from that OC3 will work, but you'll need a few extra pads.

Chris: there were some OC-4 tractors built with just 3 lower rollers like an OC-3

Here's a photo. 32 pads I think; does that sound right?

Yes, "normally" 32 pads on an OC-4 30 on an OC-3

I actually have an OC4 with OC3 track frames and therefore just three rollers per side, but I just assumed some cheap #@! swapped out the proper tracks frames for spares from an OC3. Everything else is pure OC4.

We have a Cletrac around with one side cut off the tracks. I think it's a model AD. Not sure whether those tracks would be factory or not. I know one of the ADs has B tracks on it, but I don't think it is the one that's cut.

I've never seen any Oliver or Cletracs with offset track pads. I have however seen Case crawlers that had them that way from the factory. In reference to the OC-4's with 3 roller track frames, I do have literature that states they had 3 or 4 (optional) rollers per side. That must have been very early production as I have never seen a 3 roller OC-4.

I think I might be able to help. I am in Washington and trying to post an OC 3 for my uncle. it has good tracks and finals with a model S Carco winch. I haven't been able to get anything to post so I thought I'd come ona and see if someone might be able to help or just pass the word along. I am not a computer expert. If you might be interested please contact me I do have some pictures of it.

I had photos as well of a OC4 that someone sent me, it too had the 3 rooler rails, and these same offset tracks/pads. I think it was becuse it was a 31 gauge ? unit Really narrow machine

I think I posted on this on one of the forums too at the time.

Wished I bought that machine, looking back..
