was wondering how to tell and where to look to get the correct ID for this dozer . i'm sure its a cletrac ,it also says Oliver on it .I've worked on it several times but never really ,ordered parts .i think it's a bgs it is a 6 cylinder Hercules jxb ,has heil made blade,the plate inside firewall is off ,so where would casting no# be to read .I inhered it ,my Father passed away .and i was going to get it going again.when i can figure out to get a picture off my phone to post i will. It sounds like a BG or BGH (the H meaning "hillside", which is a slightly wider tractor.) Since it says Oliver, there's a good chance that it's a BGS or BGHS. S meaning Studebaker as the engines are Hercules JX series made during the War for Studebaker trucks. After the War, unused engines were sold to Cletrac and installed in the B tractors. Supposedly they are better balanced for higher speed in the trucks.
