After pulling my engine, I noticed about a cup+ of gear oil collected within the bellhousing. Is this something to be concerned about? I imagine theres no front seal, so it's most likely coming from a gasket? Also, the engine plate indicates that I have an F226, but I've read that the AG6 has an F6226. Would the plate state F6226 or has the engine been replaced? I know the F226 was common in other tractors and autos.

I don't think I'd worry about the oil leaking into the bellhousing too much, but I believe there should be a small drain hole in the bottom where the oil should have drained out.

The AG6 has a Continental F226. That is right.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors.
