Get the numbers off of the injectors. I doubt if the Mazda ones will work as an assembles as the Hercules are a pintle type.

Well you said any information" IXB3 is the model of the engine. IX is the basic engine model B designates the bore size. Those engines were made in  at least 4 different basic bore sizes from 2-1/2 inch up to 3-1/4 inch for the IXB. The number 3 designates it as engine with 3 diming gears, there are also IX*5 engines means those engines have 5 timing gears. They have the mag on the other side of the block + they have a gear drive water pump. The other number is the serial number Hercules assigned to that engine. They assigned different series of numbers at different time for those engines. At one time I had a list of what groups were built in what years but not any more. does that help?

In case anybody else reads this all Oliver 6 cylinder diesels use the same basic PSB pump no matter if is for a little 77 or the 302 cubic inch 950. Most likely the plunger was stuck and has twisted off and no you don't need a test stand to check one. We serviced probably 150-200 Oliver diesels with PSB pumps and never had one to a pump shop.

If you are in "farm country"  get yourself some "corn head grease". It is better than oil or grease.

I would drill and tap it for 1/8 inch pipe about  1/2 inch above the upper part of the mounting flange. I would also do a cylinder balance test. If you don't have one send me an e-mail address and I will send you a chart on reading a vacuum gauge. John

The bell housing you have was only used on early tractors. OC-4 and 46 tractors have a bell housing where an auxiliary transmission can be bolted too as well. The IXA was only used about 1 year (39 as was mentioned) Then the IXK which was a 3.125 bore engine and was used till after the war. I agree the loader is not a loader for an OC-46. If you are going to use this a lot you will find you will  also want the auxillary  transmission as the 3 speed you have was designed for  farming when your tractor was built.

Where is the crack in the block? Is it so it can be sleeved or repaired?

All you need to do is touch the wire to the terminals. YOU do NOT leave the wire hooked up. It is a momentary flash of a blue spark.  Some regulators have 3 terminals some have four with one being underneath the regulator The 2 on the generator will be A & F or FLD and GEN. Check which set of terminals you have on the regulator and also the number of the regulator and get back with us.

O. K. what is the large hex plug on the valve body? Your relief valve needs to be in the circuit before it reaches the valve spools otherwise it does not protect the circuit All the valves I ever worked with had the relief valve built into the inlet side of the valve. Do you use a filter?

Please explain a little more. Are you talking a relief valve to protect the system or a set of break-a-way couplers. Also make sure you have a filter on the return line to the tank.

First of all get a voltmeter and see what the voltage is at the starter while the engine is cranking. You need to remember you are dealing with a diesel and you want it to crank over fast! You want 10.5 volts minimum while the engine is cranking measured at the starter.

When I went to the UK either 7 or 9 years (I went twice) ago I stopped at a collector that had done this. It looked real good.

Do you know what a bearing leak detector is? Most likely that engine has poured bearing shells. You could tighten up the clearance by removing shims. Also there is an external adjustment for oil pressure.
