Have you had it all of its existence?

I have a fairly close picture of my engine (from the Right side) and mine doesn't have that fitting. Remember this. When owners had to replace an OC-3/4 engine the donor engine could have originally been installed in many many kinds of machines, yours may have come from a boat, temp power unit, generator, pump, forklift, a tractor, or a water pump. That pipe may have been required in that machine and not on your Oliver.

Does your engine have its serial number badge? If not it's likely it was swapped out at some point.

I reading

Somewhere on this site there's a picture of an OC-? (3 or 4) with a front loader and a backhoe. I remember it being in the discussion about reinstalling the bell housings and putting things in backwards. So there are some OC's out there with backhoes.

Read the discussion about magnetos, points, and firing order to get it back to running. Good luck!

Look at this web site http://www.olivercletrac.com/

Then give Zimmermans a call. Can't remember their price.

Just looked at your website photos. How far did you move that marching on your trailer? It looks like it was a bit over loaded? No?

Have you wired your machine yet?

Chris

I put a spark plug in-line neon light on the front (number one) spark plug/cylinder. I rolled the engine by hand until that (front #1) plug wire flashed with light, it's fed by the wire off of the top R hand wire from the magnetos cap (distributor). The SPRK mark is in the flywheel timing hole, and that all coinsides with the white bar in the he magnetos timing window. So could I still have the engine mechanically 180 out? Or is it 90 degrees? I timed the engine with a timing light, on the SPRK mark in the window, on the cylinder one plug wire. It idled ok, but It ran like crap loaded, but it ran, it didn't like to run loaded in gear or moving the blade up and down timed that way. Later I timed it closer to TDC and it purrs. All with an incorrect firing order?

I'll play with it more after my compression tester comes in.

So these grousers/tracks all are on backwards?

FWD is to the left in the attached picture or look at my new profile picture.

It's ever so slightly different. No starter switch, I can send it to you or you can ask the guy on fb at Oliver Crawlers. He sends it out all the time.

I tried to attach it but I was rejected for it being too large.

The guy at Harley's just fixed my generator for my OC-3 and it's running great! Thanks, I'm in Groton, CT.

I knew my IXB 3 had come from another device since there's no Oliver bell housing badge like plate with the OC3 serial on it. The engine crankshaft has the extension to run my hydraulic pump. But does anyone know why Grants and my IXB3's use the other (wrong) firing order?
