Hi.
Another question on the 31".

In my father's last issue of the HPOCA magazine, page 46 (I thnk), there is a picture of a 31" at the 2010 winter show. There is another picture of that exact crawler from the other side on the magazine website (www.partparroliver.org/albums/2010hpoca ... TER_28.jpg).

Are those the correct fenders for the 31"? Is that the correct place for the battery?

Any idea what those chains are for hanging under the frame?

Does anyone kow whose crawler that is?

Thanks.

Kevin

Yes on the fenders, yes on the battery.

BUT if equipped with a snow plow as many were, especially the later OC3 models the hydraulic valve and tank go where the battery is and the battery goes on other fender. On mine, as I am refurbishing the fenders, I have temporarily mounted the battery on the drawbar shelf at the back. Works wells.
All that weight can put stress on the fenders. I have seen a bar welded or threaded-rod across to strengthen.

I am guessing the chains are just for loading and securing on the trailer.

Oliverchris.

Thank you for the information. The only 31" I have seen up close was not in the best of shape.

Sorry for the typo.

thats a sharp 31...I'd like to get mine to be that color someday, never would be that condition..anyone have suggestions on the best paint that would look like that yet be good enough to withstand some weather/wear?
