I MEASURED IT IT SEEMS TO BE 6.5 O.D. NOT SURE ON THE I.D. BUT LOOKS LIKE 5.937. IF ANYONE KNOWS MEASUREMENTS OR HAS PART NUMBER OR EVEN WHERE I CAN ORDER THE SEAL IT WOULD BE AWESOME. THANKS.

Try your local NAPA store. They should be able to look it up by size. Get as close as you can on the measurements, including width. If they don't have it in stock, ask if they can order it for you. Take what remains of the old seal with you to the parts store.

For some reason, some people tend to overlook their local NAPA store. NAPA has availability on a lot of industrial parts and agricultural parts. If the desired part is not in stock, they have resourses to call upon. They can check any NAPA warehouse in the country or check with the manufacturer. I am restoring a 1969 Ford Torino and have found a lot of parts through my local NAPA store.

About 30% of all the parts I needed for my OC-46 restoration came from NAPA. Even some of the stuff I got through Zimmermans I later found out was available from NAPA.

That depends on your local store.

For 30 years a NAPA regional warehouse was only 2 miles away , they had just about everything or could get it in a day or two. "NAPA Marvin", who started as counter help and rose to the site manager, could rattle off a 15 digit number for a Corvair or Studebaker part from memory. The biggest problem was the line at the counter was always 5 people deep. About 10 years ago the facility was closed and a typical size store was opened nearby. The people that were behind the counter there were Autozone level employees, they had absolutely no clue. One time I happened to order a part (had to bring the number in myself) and when I went to pick it up a few days later the store had been sold to new owners and the price for my part went up 15%! Although I can walk to the store from my house I do not shop there. If I do need something from NAPA i shop at other selected stores (NAPA owned or locally owned) some distance away. The people behind the counter make or break the store. We do have a few other local "old school" parts stores but many of the sales people seem very arrogant, especially to walk-up customers who aren't placing large orders.

BTW, I find their online parts lookup terrible; it seems to only list the most common parts.

Sadely, I learned that "NAPA Marvin" died only a short time after he retired. In the parts business people like him are hard to find today.

Our local NAPA store has 3 Countermen with over 30 years of experience each. I agree the online catalog does leave something to be desired. Most part stores are automotive related only. Napa has always handled most of the industrial accounts in our area. Things have changed a lot over the years, not always for the good. Most part stores are run on a shoestring budget and it can be hard to keep good employees with a lot of knowledge. Napa still has their paper catalogs available to help with hard to find items that aren't always on the computer. As equipment gets older, parts are going to be harder to find. Take Cletracs for example, the last one was built in the mid 60s. That is over 40 years ago. It can even be hard to find auto parts for a 40 year old car. Supplies of New Old Stock are bound to run out someday.

I have one of the best NAPA :P  stores there could be.  Bunch of old guys and most of them restore old cars, trucks, tractors and crawlers.  So, when I have silly questions they ususaly have the answers and the part numbers in their heads.  Great NAPA store Gig Harbor, Wa.
I just today bought a OC 3 1951 serial # 11WH420.   So, that means I'll have questions.  I have restored a 1951 D4 7A CAT, 1948 Allis Chalmers B, Farmall Cub 1948 and a Ford 8N 1950.  Helped a lot of locals with their JD's but don't own one yet.

Yesterday I when to NAPA to get same oil filters for my crawlers. NAPA had a sale on their "Gold" filters, 2 for $10. The store doesn't have them in stock, they can order them "plus shipping". As it happens I am going to a tractor show about 2 hours away, there should be plenty of stores in the small country towns along the way. I stop at one, they have the filters, BUT only at the regular price!
That is one of the reasons that NAPA isn't my first choice when looking for parts.

NAPA if it is NOT in the computer good luck. If they had books I don't think the counter people can read.

Sounds to me like that NAPA store needs to hire some counter people that really want to help people. Our local NAPA store will bend over backward to help with anything they can. If it's not on the computer, they will dig into the paper catalogs. I have even had them offer to call a competitor for different things if they could not get the part. I don't know why they wanted to charge to order parts, but I have never had to pay extra for anything I ordered.

large oil seal Part number = Timken #415447  (5.750" x 6.624" x 0.625")

Small oil seal part number= Timken # 470764  ( 2.375" x 2.996" x 0.500")

I can tell you this:

Zimmermans was by FAR cheaper than my local NAPA prices.. Go with the guys that know their stuff!
