timing the roosa master injection pump

Hey fellas, can someone point me in the right direction? I have the pointer in the timing window on flywheel at 34 degrees btdc like the book says for the dd130. The top plate in the window of the pump shows a notch in about the middle of the hole. But no mark on the bottom plate. I cannot make out for the life of me what turns to adjust the pump timing! Would like to time and set the valves at .012 cold and get this girl started! She smokes when cranking, but no go. Valves are not adjusted correctly i've discovered.  thanks   Tim

First of all do you have a Roosa Model D or a model DB pump? Are you on the compression stroke or a full turn off? Check to see if both valves on number one cylinder are loose. If not sure crank the engine over again and about 50-60 degrees of a turn after the intake valve closes you should start to see your 34 degrees before top dead center.

On the pump turn the pump in the direction of rotation untill the two lines in the window line up install pump.

On setting the valves. Adjust the valves after you turn the engine for each cylinder 1/4 turn after the intake valve closes. Questions call me.
