I am looking for two drive sprockets for a oc3 if any one knows anyone that has any for sale.

Jack in NB

Larry -

Are the centres good?

I've built up the teeth on some, and filled in missing material from flaked-off side plates, using 6011 rods. It takes a while to do. Soft material, easy to build up, less wear on the track bushings. A rough cup (typical of my rough welding skills) soon wears down against the bushings to a nice working surface.

Had to grind off the tips on a few that I got a bit high and hit the track frame. The track frames move back toward the teeth as the track hangars, bushings and support bosses wear down.

With the limited use these old girls will get now, my rebuilds will outlast the tractors.

The sprockets are pretty much beyond welding plus one center the stud holes are wallered out. I guess I need to keep hunting lol. I see zimmermans has the rings but I need the whole thing.

Did you call zimmerman ? He has quite a large cletrac bone yard.I have gotten many used parts from them, for machines much older than yours.  Good Luck and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL! Bill in CT.

Hi Larry, you might try calling "Dozer Joe". He sometimes advertises stuff on EBay. He's in Seattle Washington but he's got tons of stuff & he's getting out of crawler tractors all together. I know he has a pile of JD 420/440 & cletrac parts for sale now. He phone number is 36zero 2zero4 1017. I have not deat with him personally but have heard he's good to deal with.

Ok,  I'm not far from you. I'm in Deerfield Oh. I have most of my crawler parts back in Pa. I'll check if I have any extra sprockets when I get back there in a few days. I don't think Burgh has much anything for the OC-3's any more. They had a few complete ones, but I haven't seen any parts there lately.

I wonder what the turnover is at a place like Burgh's? I would think they would be getting more tractors in all the time. Not sure how that works.

From what I see at Burghs they seem to be selling a lot of tractors complete these days.  Don't see as many crawlers parted out as there used to be. I don't think they buy the volume they used buy there, used to get big loads in from the auctions. They scrapped a lot of stuff there when the scap prices jumped. Used to be a row of Crawlers including old Cletracs, one day they were gone :'(
