Anyone know a good fuel system cleaner? My k-20 is running kind of crappy this spring, and would like to add something to the fuel (which is new)to clean carb etc. Someone said Mechcanic in a bottle works well.  Bill in CT.

I have had good luck with Sea Foam.
My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. Same here. As a mechanic I am in contempt of most miracle snake oils, but this one was made to clean fuel system on boats laid up for winter, and it works.
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I say it on Facebook.

Sea Foam, every time I use it, I am amazed that it actually works! On one engine it worked so well (it cleaned all the carbon off the valves) I had to do a valve job!
