Sorry--for some reason the link doesn't work.  If you go to ebay and do a search for item #: 29429475747 it will come up as an HG with different sheet metal and Avery name on it.  
This is the second time I have seen an HG branded as an Avery.  Was this part of the General deal?

I have an HG that took years for me to ID.
I had it in my head as a avery, I bought a model A for parts, this is whats the same, the gas tank, motor, the trans, (case not been inside) the frame rails look the same untill you get to the rear end, little longer between the motor and trans,so it would not suprise me that the hood and grill fit.

I know people that have or had Avery Crawlers. Both of them were quote "home made"
Now I do have an add from the Indiana Farm Bureau that mentions you can get an HG from them The add is for the General which they call a B-1 Co-op but it mentions that the crawler is available and I think they show a little picture of it. Year 1942

I can't tell you if it's real or homemade, but my thoughts lean more toward homemade. I know Cletrac sold the General to Montgomery Ward and B.F. Avery to re-label and sell as their own. After Minneapolis Moline bought out B.F. Avery, they changed it to their model "BF" - I think.

I have never heard mentioned that any HG was part of these deals. A few could have been - stranger things have happened.

If you notice, I think that engine is an IXB-5 rather than an IXB-3 as used on an HG. It has a distributor and I'm not sure whether it has a water pump. Which side of the engine is the starter on an HG? Did a later B.F. Avery or Minni-Mo "General" have an IXB-5?

No five gear engines but they do have replaceable cylinder sleeves

Our Leader tractor had an IXB-5. I never knew they had replaceable liners. That engine looked like the one pictured in the "Avery" above.
