iam trying to get the engine out of my HG,iam guessing its a 1949.anyway how do you get the one piece driveline out,without cutting it intwo with a torch.

You don't have to do anything with the differential. Just remove the bolts that hold the engine to the frame and the bellhousing and lift it out. I forget the details, but I know you can pull the propellor shaft out so you can replace the clutch without moving the engine or transmission.

I had a similar problem when I replaced the engine in my HG 68.
Someone in the machines past decided to weld the shaft to the input of the transmission.
Anyway support the frame fully.
After you have removed the hood, grille, radiator, side panels, battery, tank, and support bracket, you know pretty much take anything off that may be the way.
Unbolt the front engine bracket from the frame and the track brackets too.
Unbolt the flywheel housing from the frame.
Now you can side the engine froward in the frame and get the shaft out.
OR...,
You can back off the track ajustment fully, support the frame front and back, unbolt the transmission from the frame and roll the track and trans back from the frame mounting piont.
Hope that this is of some help.
Taking the engine out is a magor process, Good Luck.
