well I found a couple more numbers  as you are sitting on it it has on the tranmission side under your left leg 204800 and a place that says fill to this point and a plug just under that  on the rear left axle houseing there is a 112 and a space and a 11

The problem is the HG and some Case tractors share the same Clark transmission and rearend, so numbers from those could correspond with both. Check the casting numbers on the idlers and someone here should be able to tell you what is on thier HG.

well I've been told it the engine is a continetal model F  still not sure about the rest of the thing  I know some one cut off the old seat  and made a cab  heres a tec question for you all it fires on 1,2,and 3 but not on number 4  good compression  but no spark at number 4  tried differant plugs and wires still no spark   disturbor cap ?

I didn't find any numbers on the idlers or sprockets  if this helps it has to what I'd call dents on the gas tank but they are factory one on the top left and the other on the bottom left  I can also tell some one cut off the factory seat and built a nice cab on it the frame is made of C iron if that makes any diff.

Oldcoal, I merged your threads together as they were both the same subject. Some of yours were in the wrong forum too, so I moved them to the right place.

The HG does not have a cast iron frame. Are you sure your's is? The Oliver OC-6 had a cast iron frame, but it has a 6 cylinder Waukesha engine.

its not cast it channel iron it goes from the front to the rear end /axlethe track idlers and frame work look like the HGs pictured in your site I was also told it could be a Milatry crawler but it is yellow and looks like it always was  If all goes well I'll have some pictures soon to send you by snail mail

well heres something else I noticed today when I was playing with it between the main frame of the machine and the rear end is 2 wood blocks 1 on each side is that common or is there 1 company that used that and not the others???

I will bet that number you are making out as a 1 infront of the 400 is actuall what is left of the letter F. Than that becomes a genuine F model casting number.

What is on it now? Maybe you can have it rebuilt by a starter shop locally. NAPA may have a rebuilt one.

Once you determine what engine you have, you could contact Continental.

some one rigged and out board starter  on it they welded a bracket on it to make it work but it is to small and gets hot fast to fast  it looks like the starter that should be on it would be more then twice as big

found a couple of web sites with good phone # and have been told that hyster used this type of engine so I may have found out where to get a starter for it I'll let you know if I do  by the way any one want to buy this little thing??
