Sorry for the late reply; haven't been in site for awhile.
I was in a 94 Clevite bearing catalog a day or so ago looking for something Oliver, and OC5 sounded familiar. Looked again and it lists an OC5G as a tractor with a Wauk 185, but doesn't say which 185. Wauk section lists seven 185 dsl and seven 185 gas.
Could be a misprint, as checking 5-6 other parts catalogs doesn't show any OC5. That Clevite catalog doesn't list Cletrac and only lists Oliver OC4, 5G, 6 and 6d, the 5G, 6 and 6D all with "Wauk 185".

(1) "Cletrac Dozer, $1200, DG-H, 6cyl L-hd, 10' Heil blade, not running, for parts or restoration, extra engine included, Hopewell Jnctn, NY sale-734531212@craigslist.org."
I have no connection with these, know nothing about them; just hate to see anything usable go to scrap.

That 79 catalog shows Three Cat lift truck lines: T-models and V-models, which were probably a  fuel etc variation as in both lines the F163 is in models 25 to 60B; at 60C to 120 they go into the Perkins 4 and the 227 6, and at 160 and up they go into the V8's.
Of course, that was too simple to continue, so there's also an AM and AH line, models 36 t0 60, with the Cat V8, presumably the most powerful.
Oops: didn't look carefully enough at a 97 Fel-Pro: that shows the Perkins (A4.236) also in the T 25 to 60B range, with the F163 and an unidentified "1404" engine (Cont 140 4cyl???...would have to be a misprint as section has separate "cyl's" column; no Cat 1404 shows, but I don't follow Cat and know next to nothing about them). Also in the V- line a Perkins 4.203 diesel has joined the A4.236

Blake, that's correct...John Schw had mentioned it in several posts, and I'd both forgotten and neglected to note it. My apologies to John for overlooking that bit of his always excellent advice.

You may've lucked out: the BD shows with a Herc diesel, and I understand parts, if available, are $$$$$$...
Perkins started in the early 30's, building one of (if not The) first high-speed diesels. The P6 was built before WWII, but I don't know when they expanded into the US, or when their engines became available here. It seems unlikely the Perkins could've been fitted for export in WWII, but  you never know; the different nut/bolt thread systems gave everyone fits during the war.
Cat lift trucks, for some reason, used mostly other engines; a 79 Fel-Pro catalog lists Cont F163 (4) and F227 (6) gas, Ford 351 V8 gas, IH UV304 V8 (later catalog shows V304) (gas?), Perkins 4.236 (4) diesel (later catalog shows A4.236) and, oh, yes, their own 3208 V8.

An oddity in my old parts catalogs:  while most that list engine ID for Cletrac 15 and 20 do show the OOC, a 79 Fel-Pro shows the 15 and 20 with both the OOC and the Cont F226. Possibly an option, or a misprint??

Please see my post in the HG etc forum below.
I know this belongs in the "All Models", but that forum seems to have the least activity/exposure.

"D-C-741", who gave a location as Ithaca, NY, says he is going to cut up for scrap various pieces of Ag eqpmt, including unidentified Cletrac  and Oliver dozers, as scrap prices are up in his area...
Now, being a paranoid conspiracy theory type, the first thing that came to mind (possibly unfairly, I'll admit) is that he/they really want to sell eqpmt or parts (one generally either offers for sale or just quietly cuts stuff up)...
However, there may well be reasonable parts etc available, so: his post is the "Hey, Look-Scrap Prices etc" thread posted 8-20 on the Combines etc forum on ytmag; there's a phone # but no email thru the system.
I have no interest in this, other than idle curiosity; if anyone posts an inquiry on ytmag, or phones, I'd appreciate knowing if it sounded legit.

If you're still looking for belt info, FWIW a 1950 Gates catalog shows:
AD...37-50..Herc DOOC Mtr...OE# 92681...Gates 8530TR
..................Fan and Gen...OE# 92768...Gates 66TG
Those old numbers may've been superceded, so dimensions are shown as:
8530TR...49 x 15/16 top width x 44 degrees
66TG.....50 x 29/32 x 42 degrees. The Gates has no cross index.
To confuse (??) matters, a 69 Dayco shows:
AD...Herc DOOC Ser # 1Z000 to 2Z609...OE# 92681...Dayco 834
....................After Ser # 2Z610.......OE# 92768...Dayco 97.
The Dayco has no size chart, but the cross-index shows Gates 66TG as Dayco 803M (!!), and doesn't list any Gates 8530TR (!!).

Don't know anything about these, including whether the prices are good or delusional; just ran across them browsing Craigslist:
"40's Oliver Cletrac, Herc 4cyl (more info in post)  $1200  sale-7ebwp--1289558862@craigslist.org Oregon City, OR, 7/26 posting.
Portland area postings only stay on for a week.

Be careful with that engine if it's the 4x51/2 OHV cast en bloc in a 1920-27 or so model. I've got a note from 2003 (OMG, how time flies!!) that a smokstak comment said that engine may be a Weidley or a Weidley design m'f'd by or for Cletrac.
Some parts catalogs seem to imply an engine change after eng # K19410 to "own" engine (probably a Wisconsin). Either one would probably be awkward to find parts for. Good luck.

This may be a little late (haven't checked in for awhile).
If memory serves, on these babbitted bearings, after all the factory shims had been removed, to adjust for wear, the next time they needed adjustment, if the people didn't have the money to rebabbitt/replace, they used to file the caps to adjust for more wear. I'm not sure if the filed caps can be rebabbitted, or whether they can, and just add shims to compensate.
More seriously, insert rods might--repeat, might--have once been made available; you'd have to find a Herc master parts book to find out.
Waukesha built a little 4cyl almost universal use engine, the FC, which originally came babbitted; later production was inserted, and rods were made available to convert the babbitted models to inserts; Herc may've done the same. It apparently wasn't done often; the FC is the only engine so noted in my Wauk parts info, altho my parts info doesn't cover many of the older engines.
Good luck.

In case you didn't run down that suggestion that your engine was a Borgward,  your engine symbol/emblem does seem to be a perfect match with the Borgward.
(Maybe I've got too much time on my hands!!)

Google SAE bellhousings or flywheel housings; ther're websites that show the various SAE commercial housings, as the Willys and Cont engines probably have one of the "commercial" sizes, and if not the same one that fits may be available.
Another point to consider is whether the welder engine will have the same timing/breathing/power curve as  one for the dozer. A welder engine, which tends to either idle or run in a very narrow RPM range under load, might-repeat,might-be less "flexible" than one for a dozer. Good luck.

Well, it's like this...I've got a 79 Fel-Pro "Master Gasket Catalog" (272 browning pulp paper pages!!) and it don't show no IX rear main seal...it's got a column for "rear main bearing set" but it's as blank as my good deed list in heaven. (Listing covers IXA's, B's and K's).
Now: I've got a Fitzgerald 64 catalog, with a section covering (brace yourself)
IX, IX3 and 5; IXA, IXA3 and 5; IXB, IXB3 and 5;IXL, IXK3, IXT, IXF3 and 5.
In that section it shows "flywheel hsg. oil seal, IXA-IXB # 11119A (OE 84985) one used ", which is probably the transmission seal. That section has nothing else that sounds like any main seal.
I've got a 12-72 Chicago Rawhide catalog, and all it shows for the IX's is assessory drive and timing cover seals; they're supposed to have an online seal cross-ref on their website.
If nothing better turns up try olsonsgaskets.com (Port Orchard, WA) very highly spoken of, and gaskets-to-go, a sponsor of smokstak. com. There's also the "parts and services" lists at aths.org to check. good luck.
